The purple hour
Pyramid of Garcilazo snowy mountain Height: 5885 Meters above sea level. This atmospheric phenomena ocurred around 18:36 after the light completely vanished and a very profound and deep purple light. For this photo i had to travel 8 hours by car from Lima to Caraz, 3 hours to the quebrada of paron, hike an hour to the lookout at around 4500 meters above sea level and settle my camera pointing towards the snowy mountain of the pyramid of garcilazo wich is the main subject of the photo. This photo brings me back so many memmories. We were heading down the viewpoint when this phenomena happened so I quickly took my gear out of the bag, got the photo and as soon as I did this the show ended really quick. This photo is my deepest representation of myself at that time, it represents my effort, knowledge and intention. When photography trips are properly planned unexpected situations happen and nature gifted me with this one.

Atlas & the moonrise
SPDA is commonly known for star gazing but on this ocation I visited this place prior to the full moon. At the correct time with good planning I caught the moonrise over one of the volcanoes of the area (SPDA is surrounded by them) this shot was taken from the valley of mars at a focal length of 791mm. The foreground and landscape are equally illuminated by the sun at around 5:15 PM a day prior to the full moon wich gave a correctly balanced exposure. You can check the timelapse of the moonrise in the timelapse section above.

North Huandoy
This frame from a 6 hour time-lapse is my favorite, the rising milky way lasted for an hour until it was completely blocked by the clouds. To witness this during the cloudy season in the mountains was a really lucky gift. This was shot inspired me in returning to this same site and make this photo again with the milky way aligned above the North Huandoy which is the 3rd tallest mountain in Peru. To get here we camped in lake Paron with freezing temperatures as -4 degrees. This is a crucial point in my career where I started to visualize before making my pictures.

Perfect Alignment
The result of putting all of my intention alongside with planning, execution and luck. The milky way, perfectly aligned with north Huandoy gave me a treat with a shooting star and 2 perfectly aligned perseid meteorites and mars above the west Huandoy mountain. I planned a lot for this and got a much better result than what i was expecting. I planned what gear was necessary for the shoot, the distance and the intention. I saw this picture before actually making it and it is my reward for consistently working for what I love.

Paron
Some nights are just magical. especially when the circumstances of the places i visit are perfect. Here we can see the lake Paron with the pyramid of Garcilazo snowy mountain (known as Paron snowy mountain too) in the new moon phase. Star gazing in the highlands bring unique opportunities and i highly encourage to travel and see the night sky by yourself, it is a mesmerizing feeling.

Lake Wilcacocha at twilight
This fantastic place is a connection between nature and human settlement and a true display of courage, located at 3745 meters above sea level i observed the end of the day, the nautical twilight, the perfect moment in which stars start to appear in the night sky. Due to the height of this place i captured the remaining blue rays of the fading sun which gave a lot of color to the mid sky section, there is a degrade of blue which i enhanced to show the true display of nature.

Castle´s of Cacheuta
Weather can be very tricky and change rapidly, at sunset when I was travelling to this location the sky was clear and in an instant it rapidly changed, clouds emerged from nowhere really fast and i had a brief moment to capture the milky way aligned with the face of the castle, a great giant emerging star gazing eternally.

Wiracocha
Even if I die doing what I love the most I would live forever. There is a great risk in not risking everything in order to fulfill your objectives. Valhalla waits for the brave and I will feast one day celebrating the life I lived. The stone forest of Huayllay is in fact a holly place and was the capital of the Wari empire.

Mountains are our ancestors, they hold and have seen many lives, civilizations, beginnings and endings, they are here to balance and remind us all that in the ephemeral life we live we are eternal beings because energy does not disappear, it changes states.

Dune Sunrise
driving at 4am to the dessert to capture the sunrise is definitely risky and worth it. This is just a frame of the first time-lapse i made for Rebeca a highly ranked local producer for the advertisement of the new Golden beer. In this project they sent me in a car trip on which i drove through 6 different provinces of Peru, seeking natural wonders for the project.

Paracas at sunset
Paracas comes from the Quechua word para-ako meaning "sand falling like rain." The Paracas culture flourished on the south Pacific coast of the central Andes in what is now Peru in around 600-150 B.C.E. and is one of the earliest known complex societies in South America.

Lunar eclipse
This strange phenomenon shows all the phases of the moon slowly fading and this phenomenon absorbed all my energy, I started to feel unmeasurably tired and slept almost all the totality phase. I woke just before the eclipse stopped and got to capture this. This is a reminder for me that our energetic bodies are strongly affected by the astrological phenomena.

South Huascaran
Huascaran or Mataraju is a mountain in the Peruvian province of Yungay, situated in the Cordillera Blanca range of the western Andes. The highest southern summit of Huascarán is the highest point in Peru, the northern part of Andes and in all of the Earth's Tropics.

North Huascaran
On May 31, 1970, the Ancash earthquake caused a substantial part of the north side of a mountain, Nevado Huascarán, to collapse and an unstable mass of glacial ice about 800 meters across at the top of Nevado Huascarán to fall. This caused a debris avalanche, burying the town of Yungay and killing 20,000 people (400 survived). More than 50 million cubic meters of debris slid approximately 15 kilometers downhill at an angle of about 14 degrees. Speeds between 340 mph to 620 mph were achieved. Most of the survivors were in the cemetery and stadium at the time of the earthquake, as these zones were the highest in town. This is a reminder of how violent and beautiful nature can be.

Maule lagoon
This place holds quite a story. At first I was discussing with my ex-girlfriend on which road to travel, to go to Mendoza to enter Chile or enter the unknown in Malargue, where there was a frontier path. We took the risk and obtained an unexpected gift, the Maule lagoon along with many other fantastic views in the road. Lesson learnt: The lesser travelled roads are full of constant surprises.
