Chacas, Conchucos

During the 7.9-magnitude earthquake in 1970, followed by floods that severely affected the entire Áncash region, the church of 'Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Chacas' completely collapsed, as did most of the homes in this town at 3,360 meters above sea level.
